Salary: £100 - £120 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors (CS) for immediate daily supply and long-term positions across secondary schools in Sunderland. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, and experienced classroom professionals looking to make a meaningful impact in a flexible and rewarding role.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will be responsible for delivering pre-set work to classes in the absence of the regular teacher. While no formal teaching qualification is required, you will be expected to manage classroom behaviour and ensure a productive learning environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervising lessons and maintaining discipline within the classroom.
• Distributing and explaining pre-set work to students.
• Ensuring pupils remain on task and work is completed effectively.
• Managing student behaviour in line with school policy.
• Providing feedback to teaching staff after lessons.
• Supporting pupils with general queries and ensuring safeguarding protocols are followed.

Cover Supervisor (CS) Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or working with young people in an educational setting.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to lead confidently.
• A genuine passion for education and supporting young learners.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
• A flexible, resilient, and proactive attitude.

• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
