The Role

Are you a graduate interested in working in education or someone with skills from other industries that can deliver pre-planned lessons effectively? Several secondary schools in York, accessible from Malton, Acomb, and Central York, are seeking talented cover supervisors for day-to-day or long-term staffing needs.

What is a Cover Supervisor?

You will lead lessons of about 30 pupils in the absence of the class teacher, covering various secondary school subjects without needing to be a subject specialist. Lessons are planned and provided in advance. Your role includes facilitating learning, managing behaviour, recording registers, and handing over to the absent teacher.

Requirements

• A degree or equivalent education
• A passion for working with young people
• A confident and engaging persona to deliver lessons
