Westfield Academy in Yeovil is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team. You will deliver high-quality cover lessons, implement lesson plans, and support absent teaching staff while maintaining a safe, orderly learning environment.

You will register students, respond to questions about the work set, assist pupils with activities, and promote the school's ethos and policies. Flexibility and proactive behavior management are essential as cover needs can change at short notice.

Description du poste

We wish toappoint, as soon as possible, an enthusiastic individual to join our existingteam of Cover Supervisors who provide high quality cover lessons for absentteaching staff. You will implement lesson plans prepared by teachers, andensure an effective environment for learning. Cover Supervisors will need toregister students promptly in line with our attendance and safeguardingprocedures, respond to questions about the work that has been set, andgenerally assist students to undertake set activities and engage in learning,whilst promoting and implementing the schools ethos and policies.

The successfulcandidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal andorganisational skills, and be able to use their initiative to respond toclassroom situations. Candidates shouldbe able to demonstrate positive and effective behaviour management techniques,flexibility and an ability to work under pressure. This role requires thepostholder to adapt to different demands at short notice due to the nature ofcover requirements.

This role wouldsuit candidates who are looking to get into teaching or a teaching assistantwho may wish to take a step into a teaching role. A candidate with a willingnessto support extracurricular sports clubs and fixtures as part of the wider coversupervisor role would fit the role well.
