Rhondda Cynon Taf is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support pupils and staff across local secondary schools. You do not need qualified teaching status; training will be provided, and you will deliver pre-prepared lessons, manage classrooms, and report absences.

So, what is a Cover Supervisor? A Cover Supervisor is responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task throughout the lesson. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies and procedures


• Delivering pre-set work and ensuring pupils stay focused on their learning


• Taking registers and accurately reporting absences


• Adapting quickly to changes in your daily timetable


• Building positive relationships with students and staff


• Maintaining a safe and productive learning environment


• Has a genuine interest in education and working with young people


• Is confident communicating with large groups of students


• Possesses natural leadership qualities


• Has a sporting, coaching, mentoring, or youth work background


• Is a graduate, undergraduate, or educated to A-Level standard


• Can remain calm, professional, and adaptable in a classroom environment
