Job summary

A local education authority is seeking a Cover Supervisor for Kettlethorpe High School to supervise classes in the absence of teachers. The successful candidate will manage pupil behavior and follow instructions left by teachers. Ideal for graduates with ICT skills, the position offers 32.5 hours per week during term time only. Competitive salary range of approximately £19,926 to £21,235.

Qualifications

Overview

Required as soon as possible, a Cover Supervisor to be responsible for supervising a class of pupils in place of a teacher. The person appointed will supervise work set by a qualified teacher when a member of staff is absent; they will not be expected to set and mark work for the classes covered.

Responsibilities

• Supervise work set by a qualified teacher when a member of staff is absent.
• Be well organised and confident in dealing with pupils in classroom situations; follow the instructions left by the teacher; manage pupils\' learning and behaviour at various levels.
• Cover is allocated on a daily basis following the full school curriculum; familiarity with subjects to GCSE level and working with pupils in the age range 11-16 would be an advantage.

• Graduates (or equivalent).
• Some ICT skills.
