Job summary

Exclusive Education is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support KS3 and KS4 across schools in Wigan. The role focuses on supervising classes, delivering pre-prepared materials, and maintaining classroom discipline.

You will take registers, monitor attendance, and help students understand tasks without introducing new content. You will refer serious issues to senior staff and assist with exams and other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions.
• Maintain good order, discipline, and behaviour in line with school policies.
• Take registers and monitor student attendance.
• Support students in understanding the tasks set, without teaching new content.
• Ensure the safety and welfare of pupils at all times.
• Collect completed work and provide feedback to teaching staff on student -participation and behaviour.
• Manage classroom resources and equipment appropriately.
• Respond to minor incidents and refer more serious issues to senior staff.
• Assist with other school duties such as break-time supervision, examinations, or administrative tasks when required.

The ideal candidate will have previous Cover Supervisor experience and will be confident undertaking work to the KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
