Job summary

Whitley Bay High School is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team. The role involves delivering cover to classes when teachers are out and ensuring continuity of learning for pupils aged 13–18.

A degree in English, Maths, Science or another curriculum related subject would be advantageous. Successful candidates will demonstrate good humour, resilience and a genuine passion for working with young people.

COVER SUPERVISOR

Salary – Grade 5 SCP 7–9, Actual £22,378-£23,100 (pay award pending)

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only - 193 days

We require a Cover Supervisor to join our team as soon as possible. This role primarily involves delivering cover to classes where teachers are out of school for short-term reasons.

A degree in English, Maths, Science or other curriculum related subject would be advantageous. Good humour, resilience and a passion for working with young people aged 13-18 are required.

Responsibilities include accompanying students on educational visits and playing a full part in the extra-curricular life of the school. Postholders will also participate in a weekly training programme alongside teachers and classroom-based support staff.
