Flourish Education is recruiting for a confident, motivated and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work in a welcoming secondary school in Solihull. This role offers flexible long-term and day-to-day opportunities to suit your availability and work-life balance.

You will deliver pre-planned lessons, supervise classes, and maintain a calm, productive learning environment while building positive relationships with pupils and staff. DBS check is required and ongoing consultant support is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or working with young people is desirable.
• Graduates, Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and aspiring Supply Teachers are encouraged to apply.
• A good understanding of the National Curriculum.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
• Flexible, reliable and able to adapt to different school environments.

Whether you are an experienced Cover Supervisor, a graduate considering a career in teaching, an aspiring teacher or someone with previous experience working with young people, this could be the ideal opportunity. You will play an important role in keeping pupils on track with their learning by supervising classes and delivering pre-planned lessons when their usual teacher is unavailable.

Job Role

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), following the National Curriculum.
• Supervise classes and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Encourage pupils to remain focused, engaged and involved in their learning.
• Provide classroom cover across a variety of subjects.
• Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by teaching staff.
• Adapt confidently to different year groups, classrooms and subject areas.
• Maintain a safe, positive and productive learning environment.
• Provide feedback to relevant staff about the lesson and any issues that arise.

This Cover Supervisor position is based in Solihull and is easily commutable from Shirley, Knowle, Dorridge, Olton, Hall Green, Sheldon, Birmingham, Hockley Heath and surrounding areas. Solihull benefits from good road and public transport connections, making it accessible for candidates travelling from across the West Midlands.
