Job summary

Selly Oak Trust School is seeking a Cover Supervisor to confidently supervise classes during short-term teacher absences and to implement pre-prepared work while supporting students in learning activities. The role emphasizes wellbeing, SEN support, and maintaining a calm, professional approach within a caring school community.

The position offers a permanent contract, 34 hours per week, 8:30am–3:30pm with a 4:00pm finish on Wednesdays and one other day.

Qualifications

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team as a Cover Supervisor. The role of a Cover Supervisor is to confidently supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher, under the guidance of teaching and senior staff. This includes implementing pre-prepared work programmes, managing student behaviour, and supporting students in learning activities in line with the school's policies and procedures. We are looking for someone who is able to:

  Hours: 34 hours per week. Working hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, with a 4:00pm finish on Wednesdays and one other day (to be confirmed). Includes a 25-minute lunch break each day. Contract Type: Permanent Salary Scale - Band C 19-33 (£24,437 - £31,788). This is the actual annual salary and includes SEN allowance.
