Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Cover Supervisor for a secondary school in the Sutton in Ashfield area for the 2026/27 year. The role offers full-time hours and a competitive daily rate of £95–£110.

The role involves supervising classes during teacher absences, delivering lesson materials, and supporting students to stay on task. DBS checks and training may be required, with ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor for a secondary school in the Sutton in Ashfield area for the 2026/27 year. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor to gain a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervising classes during teacher absences
• Delivering lesson materials and instructions provided by teaching staff
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Supporting students to stay on task with their work
• Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and any issues

Requirements:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence in managing groups of young people
• A flexible and proactive approach
• Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
• A degree or relevant qualification (preferred)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
