Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across the Pontypool area. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, youth workers, sports coaches, or individuals with experience working with young people who are passionate about education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during short-term absences, deliver pre-set work, maintain discipline, and keep students engaged in their learning.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and classroom management.
  • Experience with young people is desirable.
  • Able to supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared work.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and EWC registration.

Are you looking to gain valuable experience in education? Do you have excellent communication and classroom management skills? We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across the Pontypool area.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, youth workers, sports coaches, or individuals with experience working with young people who are passionate about education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-set work, maintain classroom discipline, and ensure students remain engaged in their learning.

  • Supervise classes across a variety of subjects.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials provided by teaching staff.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Support students in completing assigned work.
  • Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.
  • Experience working with young people is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence managing groups of students.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and professional approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to register.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
