Balfor Recruitment Group is recruiting a dedicated Cover Supervisor to support a welcoming secondary school in Gorton, Greater Manchester. This rewarding role requires classroom management and strong communication to engage pupils when the class teacher is absent.

The role is Full-Time and long-term, with a daily rate of £100–£130 depending on experience, starting September 2026. Applicants should have UK school experience and an enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months’ experience working within a UK school.
• Strong classroom management.
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Recent education-based references.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Encourage pupils to participate fully in lessons and complete the work provided.
• Support pupils with varying abilities and additional learning needs.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and behaviour.
• Build positive and professional relationships with pupils and colleagues.

The Role
