Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor for a thriving secondary school in Gidea Park. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared lessons and support students to stay engaged and meet high standards of behaviour.

Based in Gidea Park, the role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, with a daily rate of 90-120 depending on experience. Applications close 30/07/26; interviews are ongoing, with a Trial Day for successful candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience with young people in an educational or similar setting.
• Experience as a Cover Supervisor or similar role is desirable.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Confident with students aged 11-16.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Calm, confident and approachable manner.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Proactive, positive and flexible approach.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the usual teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and keep students focused.

Job Overview

What we're looking for

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
