Job summary

Ivybridge Community College is seeking a Cover Supervisor to ensure learning continues when the usual teacher is absent, using pre-prepared lesson plans.

You will support behaviour management and assist the Head of Department with additional duties such as trips; all posts are subject to DBS and pre-employment checks.

• Provide learning to continue in the absence of the class teacher using pre-prepared lesson plans.
• Manage effectively the behaviour of students and support delivery of the curriculum.
• Assist the Head of Department with additional duties (Trips, etc.).

Job description

Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Terms: 31.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Salary: WeST Grade D SCP 8-14

Under 5 years’ Service: £19,404 - £21,368

Over 5 years’ service: £19,838 - £21,847

Location: Ivybridge Community College

To enable the provision of learning to continue in the absence of the teacher normally responsible for teaching a particular class, by utilising pre-prepared lesson plans

To manage effectively the behaviour of students, and where no cover duties are required, to undertake activities to assist teachers in the delivery of the curriculum.

To assist the Head of Department in any other duties as are reasonable (Trips etc.)
