Job summary

Copleston High School in Ipswich is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to support teaching and learning when teachers are absent. This centralised cover model keeps students in supervised study environments and maintains a calm, productive learning atmosphere. The role is part-time (33.75 hours weekly) for 39 weeks per year, with a pro rata salary of £21,991–£23,837.

This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in supporting teaching and learning by ensuring students continue to learn effectively when teachers are absent.

Most of our cover provision is delivered through a centralised model, with students working in supervised study environments rather than being dispersed across multiple classrooms. This allows cover supervisors to work alongside members of the senior leadership team and other colleagues to maintain a calm, purposeful and productive learning environment while supporting students' independent learning.

The Role

You will:

• supervise students undertaking work set by their teachers
• support the effective operation of large-scale supervised study sessions and classroom-based cover where required
• promote positive behaviour, engagement and independent learning
