Job summary

Copleston High School in Ipswich is seeking a qualified Cover Teacher to join our dedicated team. The role involves delivering pre-planned lessons, supervising independent learning, and supporting students across a range of subjects during periods of teacher absence.

Qualifications

Copleston High School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Teacher to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher to support high-quality teaching and learning across the school, ensuring continuity of education during periods of teacher absence whilst working closely with colleagues and members of the Senior Leadership Team.

About the role

The majority of cover provision at Copleston High School operates through a centralised model, with students undertaking independent learning within larger supervised study environments rather than being dispersed across multiple classrooms. Cover Teachers work collaboratively with Senior Leaders and teaching colleagues to support students, maintain high expectations and ensure a purposeful learning environment.

Alongside supervising independent learning, the successful candidate will provide classroom-based cover when required, delivering pre-planned lessons, supporting student progress and promoting positive behaviour across the school.

We are looking for someone who:
