Job summary

Mount St Joseph RC High is seeking a Cover Supervisor to supervise classes during short-term staff absence and deliver pre‑prepared materials. The role supports maintaining a calm learning environment and contributing to student engagement.

The post is permanent, 22 hours per week (term-time plus 3 days), with a pro‑rated salary of £14,604–£15,842 actual (£28,598–£31,022 FTE). Start date is ASAP and closing date is 31 August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during the absence of teaching staff.
• Deliver pre‑planned lessons and ensure students remain focused on their learning.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
• Provide support and guidance to students during lessons where appropriate.
• Record attendance and report any issues or concerns to relevant staff.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and student wellbeing.
• Assist with other school duties as required.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short‑term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that students remain engaged in their learning by delivering pre‑prepared lesson materials. You will help maintain a calm, positive learning environment and support students in achieving their best.
