Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor for long-term roles in secondary schools across Leicester. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and ready to step into the classroom, managing lessons in the absence of the regular teacher and ensuring students remain focused and engaged.

The role requires a high level of spoken English, the ability to defuse challenging behaviour, and ideally a degree.

Qualifications

• A high level of spoken English and strong communication skills.
• The ability to manage and defuse challenging behaviour confidently.
• Ideally educated to degree level, though relevant experience is welcome.
• A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-set lessons across multiple subjects, ensuring students stay on task and adhere to school rules.
• Confidently handle challenging behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Supervise students during lessons and break times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Support the school’s ethos and policies, contributing to a positive school culture.
