Job summary

Premier Education Ltd is seeking Cover Supervisors for flexible supply roles across the Tameside area, including Ashton-under-Lyne, Hyde, Stalybridge, Dukinfield, Mossley, Denton, and Audenshaw. Flexible 1–5 days per week with competitive daily rates and weekly pay through our in-house PAYE payroll.

DBS checks and safeguarding commitments are required. Ideal candidates may be graduates or experienced staff who enjoy working with young people and want classroom experience with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Experience with secondary-aged students is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Legal right to work in the UK; sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during short-term absence of the class teacher.
• Deliver pre-planned work and keep students engaged.
• Maintain classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Support students across key stages and subjects as needed.
• Create a safe, positive learning environment.

Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner)
Contract: Flexible Supply Work (1-5 Days per Week)
Pay: Competitive daily rates, paid weekly via our in-house PAYE payroll

Premier Education is recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work on a flexible supply basis across a range of welcoming secondary schools throughout the Tameside area, including Ashton-under-Lyne, Hyde, Stalybridge, Dukinfield, Mossley, Denton, and Audenshaw.

Whether you're an experienced Cover Supervisor, a graduate considering a career in teaching, or someone with experience working with young people, this is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while enjoying the flexibility to choose when you work.

Many schools use supply work as a way of identifying candidates for longer-term and permanent opportunities. Several of our Cover Supervisors have secured permanent school-based roles after first working on supply through Premier Education.

The Role:

• Supervising classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher
• Delivering pre-planned work and ensuring students remain engaged with their learning
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Supporting students across a range of subjects and year groups
• Creating a safe, positive, and productive learning environment

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working with secondary-aged students is desirable
• Previous Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, Sports Coaching, or similar experience is advantageous
• Confident classroom presence and effective behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A flexible, reliable, and professional approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
