Job summary

Leigh Academy Longfield, part of Leigh Academies Trust, invites applications for a Cover Supervisor. The role supports staff and students, maintaining good behaviour and keeping learners engaged during teacher absences. Training is provided, and you may work across subjects aligned to your preferences.

Graduates are welcome to apply as an entry path into teaching. The post offers term-time hours (8:15am–3:15pm, Mon–Fri) with a salary of £19,655 per annum (£26,016 FTE), plus local government

Leigh Academy Longfield now has an opportunity to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join their dedicated team to provide full support to the staff and students.

The successful candidate will ensure the good behaviour of our students and make sure students engage in their learning during short-term absence of teachers. Cover work will be supplied wherever possible for you to use as a basis for the lessons and we will also determine your subject specialisms with you as a preference. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for this post as our successful candidates need to demonstrate that they can build good rapport with staff and students alike.

This post is ideal for graduates with an interest in developing a career in teaching as the experience you can gain from this is first-hand, and also those who may have had experience within the education sector beforehand.

Please note that whilst previous experience within an education environment is desirable, full training will be provided for successful candidates.

The actual salary for this role is £19,655 per annum (£26,016 full-time equivalent), term-time + 1 week inset. The working hours for this role are 8:15am - 3:15pm with a 30 minute lunch break, Monday - Friday.
