Job summary

Leigh Academy Tonbridge is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to support classrooms and maintain high standards during teacher absences. The role focuses on delivering instructions, engaging students with set work, and providing feedback to staff on progress and behaviour.

This permanent post offers 31.67 hours per week (term time + 1 inset week) with working hours 8:30am–3:20pm, Monday to Friday. Applications may consider 3–4 days per week for suitable candidates.

Responsibilities

• Oversee classrooms and deliver instructions to students.
• Ensure students remain engaged with the work set by their class teachers.
• Answer general queries and provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour.
• Support during periods of teacher absence and for PPA cover.
• Note: not responsible for planning lessons or formal assessment of progress.

Leigh Academy Tonbridge is looking to expand its dedicated team of Cover Supervisors who provide vital support across the academy during periods of teacher absence, including PPA cover, school trips, and short-term leave.

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an additional Cover Supervisor to join our team as soon as possible. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing classrooms, delivering instructions, and ensuring that students remain engaged with the work set by their class teachers. You will act as a supportive presence, answering general queries and providing essential feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour.
