Job summary

Meridian High School, part of GLF Schools, is seeking a Cover Supervisor to deliver and support lessons in the absence of teachers. You will work with staff to maintain behaviour and progress, supporting learners of all abilities within a positive school environment.

Ideal candidates have teaching assistant experience, GCSE English & Maths at grade C, and HLTA qualification or progression towards it. This role is on-site and aligns with our inclusive education approach.

Qualifications

Teaching assistant experience required.
GCSE English and Maths at grade C or equivalent.
HLTA qualification desirable or in progress.

Responsibilities

Deliver and support engaging lessons in the absence of the subject teacher.
Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
Collaborate with teaching staff and inclusion team to support students.

Summary

Join Meridian High School as a dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisor, playing a vital role in supporting high-quality learning across the school. Your opportunity In this dynamic position, you will deliver and support engaging lessons in the absence of the subject teacher, ensuring continuity of education while maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement. Working closely with teaching staff and the wider inclusion team, you will motivate and support students of all abilities, provide meaningful feedback on their progress, and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment aligned with the school's values and development priorities. What we're looking for:

Teaching assistant experience
Good literacy and numeracy skills evidenced by grade 'C' at GCSE (or equivalent) in English & Maths
Achieved or working towards HLTA qualification
Able to confidently and competently apply knowledge and skills acquired from training into a practical classroom context
Ability to relate to, and communicate with, children in and out of the classroom
