Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a Cover Supervisor to work across outstanding schools in Basingstoke. This role offers flexible daily supply work with competitive pay and the chance to gain experience across multiple secondary settings.

As a Cover Supervisor you will supervise lessons in the teacher's absence, deliver prepared work, and maintain a positive learning environment while supporting students’ progress. DBS checks are required for safeguarding compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during short-term absence of teachers.

Are you an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor looking for flexible work in Basingstoke? GSL Education is looking for an experienced Cover Supervisor to work across some of the outstanding schools in Basingstoke. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident Cover Supervisor who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain valuable experience in a variety of secondary school settings.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining a positive learning environment by supervising lessons in the absence of the class teacher. Whether you are an experienced Cover Supervisor or have previous experience working with young people in an educational setting, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students complete the work set.
• Maintain a calm, positive, and productive classroom environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
• Support students with their learning where appropriate.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students throughout the school day.
• Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate members of staff.
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff.
• Adapt confidently to different subjects and classroom settings.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or experience working with young people in schools or similar settings.
• Good classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A flexible, reliable, and professional approach to work.
• Confidence in leading a classroom independently.
