Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Proven diagnostic fault-finding and engine/major component repair experience.
• Experience in main dealer or busy independent workshop.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, warranty repairs and servicing per manufacturer schedules.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical and software issues using brand interfaces.
• Perform timing chains, clutches, engine overhauls and gearbox work.
• Complete multi-point VHCs and accurate electronic job cards.
• Work with advisors and parts staff to maintain workshop flow.

Core Duties

• Carry out manufacturer-scheduled maintenance, warranty repairs, and general mechanical servicing
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues using official brand diagnostic interfaces
• Perform in-depth repair tasks, including timing chains, clutches, engine overhauls, and gearbox replacements
• Execute multi-point vehicle health checks (VHC) and complete accurate electronic job cards
• Work alongside service advisors and parts staff to ensure smooth workshop flow and high customer satisfaction

Candidate Profile

• Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served experience)
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated confidence in diagnostic fault-finding, engine repair work, and major component overhauls
• Background: Proven experience within a main dealer environment or busy independent garage
• Attributes: Quality-focused professional dedicated to right-first-time standards and bay safety
• Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
