Covenant Advisory Manager – Pensions & Transactions

Job summary

Isio is seeking a qualified accountant with employer covenant advisory experience to join the Covenant Solutions team in Manchester, Edinburgh, or London. You will advise on covenant assessments, M&A and restructuring, and support Isio’s growth ambitions in pensions and covenant advisory.

The role involves building a portfolio of corporate and trustee clients, performing detailed financial analysis, and working with actuarial and investment specialists to deliver integrated solutions.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/CA/ACCA accountant with post-qualification experience.
• Employer covenant and/or transaction/restructuring advisory experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how businesses work.
• Experience in insolvency analysis or recoveries to inform creditor/pension outcomes.
• Excellent report writing, financial analysis and project management skills.
• Ability to research clients, industries, and ESG risks, and develop client-facing collateral.
• Experience using AI and data analysis tools for research and reporting.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for business development and market initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a portfolio of pension trustee advisory clients and advise on employer covenant assessments.
• Perform and review financial and commercial analysis for employer covenant assessments; coach junior team members.
• Assess impact of corporate activity (transaction, restructuring or refinancing) on the employer covenant for pension schemes.
• Advise on solutions to mitigate changes in employer covenant and security.
• Advise corporate sponsors in negotiations with trustees over covenant and financial support options.
• Support external marketing initiatives to back Isio’s growth ambitions.
