About HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS)

Our client HMCTS is an agency of the Ministry of Justice, providing administrative support for the legal system across England and Wales. HMCTS ensures justice works for everyone, defending fundamental rights and freedoms. It serves a diverse range of individuals, from vulnerable people to families in crisis, claimants, and businesses, with a responsibility to administer an accessible and efficient justice system.

Position Details
  • Full Time, 37 hours per week, 9am - 5pm
  • Temporary role until end of September 2025, with potential extension
  • Pay rate: £12.21 per hour
  • Location: Aylesbury Courts
Primary Responsibilities
  1. Perform usher and administrative duties as needed.
  2. Serve as an initial point of contact for court users.
  3. Maintain regular contact with judiciary and administrative staff.
  4. Greet court visitors, including vulnerable witnesses and legal representatives, and prepare court/hearing rooms.
  5. Complete documentation and support efficient court operations.
  6. Carry out clerical tasks to support HMCTS work.
  7. Work within a team, managing your own time with regular management support.
Skills and Experience
  • Friendly and approachable with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in IT, with the ability to learn new technologies and software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
