The Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Liaison & Diversion Practitioner to work across Willesden Magistrates Court and Wembley Police Custody Suite. You will assess mental state and risk, creating care pathways within the criminal justice system with multidisciplinary support.

The role requires navigating court and custody settings, flexible hours, and strong communication. This permanent, full-time post offers Band 7 pay and CPD opportunities.

Formación

• Qualified Registered Mental Nurse, Mental Health Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with current registration with the relevant professional body.
• Substantial CPD and post-registration training experience.
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency team.
• Post-registration experience in community or forensic settings at Band 6 or above.
• Experience of crisis work and risk assessment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform comprehensive psycho-social assessments and write reports.

Responsabilidades

• To act as an autonomous practitioner in court and police detention cells and assess mental state and risk to develop a care pathway.
• Maintain a presence on-site during the shift to respond to referrals promptly and liaise with custody staff.
• Screen youths in custody when needed and coordinate onward referrals including safeguarding and CAMHS.
• Undertake full mental state and risk assessments and gather history for individuals with diverse needs.
• Prepare accurate written reports following assessments in line with quality standards.
