Job summary
The Club Company is seeking a Golf Courses Manager for The Warwickshire, a premier 500-acre resort with multiple championship courses. You will lead greens/maintenance, drive improvements, and manage capital plans while ensuring high-quality playing surfaces all year round.
You will oversee a large team of greenkeepers and gardeners, coordinate with the Resort Director, and uphold safety and ESG targets, delivering top-tier service across the club network.
Qualifications
- Previous golf course management experience or advanced deputy role experience required.
- PA1, PA2, PA6 spraying certificates.
- Chainsaw qualifications would be an advantage.
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent as a minimum.
- Irrigation knowledge with Toro Lynx and satellite controllers.
- Maintain a fleet of machinery alongside the mechanic.
- Able to work within an agreed budget.
- Have a good understanding of current Health and safety in the workplace.
- Desire to continue to improve own knowledge and skill base.
- Good communication skills with a passion for delivering top quality service.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing general course maintenance and improvement projects.
- Oversee turf maintenance: mowing, watering, fertilising, pest/weed control.
- Develop and execute a maintenance schedule to keep the course in top condition year-round.
- Monitor weather and adjust practices accordingly.
- Coordinate with Resort Director and Group Course Manager on progress for members and guests.
- Stay informed about ESG targets and eco-friendly greenkeeping techniques.
- Ensure safety regulations compliance and safe equipment operation.
- Maintain and oversee all greenkeeping equipment and repairs.
- Develop agronomic plans for quality and playability.
- Oversee annual budget and capital expenditure plans.
- Maintain admin/record-keeping for the department.
- Lead, motivate and train a large team of greenkeepers and gardeners.
- Plan weekly work schedules, holidays and staffing levels.

The Warwickshire is a 500 acre resort that boasts two superb 18-hole championship courses, a 9-hole Par 3 course and driving range with TopTracer technology set within the scenic countryside of Warwickshire. Applicants are invited for the key role of Golf Courses Manager., The Course Manager is accountable for the general management and maintenance of the golf courses, practice areas, driving range and any other outdoor areas, ensuring the greens are kept in peak condition. This role requires effective leadership skills, good knowledge of turf management and the ability to successfully manage a large team of greenkeepers and gardeners. Greens/Course Management:
- To assist in the planning and implementation of general course maintenance and improvement projects
- Implement and oversee all aspects of turf maintenance, including mowing, watering, fertilising, and pest/weed control
- Develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance schedule to ensure the course is in top condition year-round
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust maintenance practices accordingly
- Work with the Resort Director and Group Course Manager to make sure all members and guests are kept up to date with course progress and plans
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in environmentally friendly greenkeeping techniques and our ESG company targets
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices for equipment operation
- Maintain and oversee the operation of all greenkeeping equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly utilised
- To develop and implement short and longer term agronomic plans to enhance quality and playability
- Oversee the annual budget, ensuring efficient use of resources while meeting financial targets
- To plan and oversee the capital expenditure plans on the golf courses
- To maintain a good level of admin/ record keeping for the department
- Lead, motivate, and train a large team of greenkeepers and gardeners to perform their duties efficiently and effectively
- Lead and supervise the greenkeeping team in the day to day set up of golf course and inform members of any changes to course playability
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and driven to produce quality surfaces all year round with an up-to-date knowledge of modern greenkeeping techniques.
