Job summary

Luminate Education Group seeks an experienced Course Leader in Electrical to lead electrical provision across Keighley College and Harrogate College. You will provide leadership for the Electrical curriculum, drive teaching standards and learner outcomes, and partner with employers to keep programmes relevant and innovative.

You will oversee curriculum planning, quality improvement and learners’ progression across both campuses, shaping the future of the Electrical provision in the region.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading curriculum delivery and learner outcomes.
  • Experience in FE/apprenticeships and working with industry partners.
  • Qualified teaching status or willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and coordinate the delivery of Electrical programmes across both college campuses.
  • Drive improvements in learner recruitment, attendance, retention, achievement and progression.
  • Support, mentor and develop curriculum staff to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Monitor learner performance and implement timely interventions to support success.
  • Work closely with employers and industry stakeholders to ensure curriculum content reflects current and future workforce needs.
  • Lead curriculum planning, course reviews and quality improvement activities to maintain high standards and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding body, college and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations, inclusion and continuous improvement.
  • Support the recruitment, induction and progression of learners through participation in open events, interviews and enrolment activities.
  • Develop innovative learning opportunities that enhance learner engagement and employability.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and development of Electrical provision across both colleges.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Course Leader in Electrical to lead our Electrical provision across Keighley College and Harrogate College. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of electrical education, ensuring learners receive a high-quality learning experience that prepares them for successful careers in the industry. As Course Leader, you will provide leadership and direction for the Electrical curriculum, driving high standards of teaching, learning and assessment while supporting colleagues to deliver outstanding learner outcomes. Working closely with employers and industry partners, you will help ensure our programmes remain relevant, innovative and aligned to local and regional skills needs. You will be responsible for curriculum planning, quality improvement, learner performance and the day-to-day coordination of Electrical programmes across both campuses. The successful candidate will be passionate about developing talent, committed to excellence and keen to make a positive impact on learners, staff and employers alike. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Lecturer, curriculum leader or industry professional with teaching experience to influence the development of a growing provision and help inspire the next generation of electrical professionals.

  • You will have a strong background in the Electrical sector alongside the ability to lead, motivate and support both learners and colleagues to achieve their full potential.
  • You will bring:
  • A relevant qualification in Electrical Installation or a related discipline.
  • Recent industry experience and up-to-date knowledge of the Electrical sector.
  • Experience of delivering high-quality teaching, training or assessment within Further Education, Apprenticeships or the workplace.
  • A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience of supporting quality improvement and driving positive learner outcomes.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with employers, stakeholders and curriculum teams.
  • A commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and outstanding learner experiences.
  • Most importantly, you will be a proactive and ambitious individual who is committed to raising standards, developing industry-relevant provision and helping learners gain the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for successful careers in the Electrical industry.
