Job summary

Dorset Council UK is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead a highways delivery team across the county. You will oversee capital and revenue programmes, manage budgets, resources and subcontractors, and drive safe, high‑quality highway works with minimal disruption.

The role requires travel across the county, a full driving licence, and a proven track record in construction or civil engineering project delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering construction or civil engineering projects.
• Experience managing budgets, resources and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and CDM 2015.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of operatives and subcontractors to deliver highway works.
• Manage project budgets and resources to ensure safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery.
• Ensure works comply with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and contract standards.
• Carry out site visits and monitor quality using digital auditing tools.
