Job summary

CHEP in South Ockendon is seeking a Counterbalance FLT Driver to support production and haulier operations in a fast-paced yard. You will operate 4.5-ton triple fork FLTs and help maintain smooth flow on production lines while coordinating with visiting vehicles during loading and unloading.

The role requires an external FLT licence (RTITB/ITSSAR) or in-house licences, experience with busy yard environments, and a safety-conscious, reliable work approach.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Counterbalance FLT Driver (busy yard/HGV loading preferred).
• External FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR) is ideal – in-house licences considered.
• Experience with double/triple fork FLTs = big advantage.
• Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate FLT trucks to support production & haulier operations.
• Direct visiting vehicles during loading & unloading.
• Maintain smooth flow on production lines within agreed SLAs.
• Assist with manual inspection & repair of yard equipment.
• Handle and rotate stock safely and efficiently.
