Job summary

CHEP is seeking a Counterbalance FLT Driver to operate 4.5-ton triple fork FLTs in a fast-paced yard environment, supporting production and haulier operations in the United Kingdom. You will safely drive FLTs, direct visiting vehicles during loading and unloading, and help maintain smooth production flow.

The ideal candidate has prior counterbalance FLT experience in busy yards or with HGV loading, plus an external FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR).

Qualifications

• Experience as a Counterbalance FLT Driver (busy yard/HGV loading preferred).
• External FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR) is ideal – in-house licences considered.
• Experience with double/triple fork FLTs is a big advantage.
• Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate FLT trucks to support production & haulier operations.
• Direct visiting vehicles during loading & unloading.
• Maintain smooth flow on production lines within agreed SLAs.
• Assist with manual inspection & repair of yard equipment.
• Report any damage or operational issues promptly.
• Handle and rotate stock safely and efficiently.
