Job summary

Watton Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly motivated Warehouse Operative with a valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence to join our client’s warehouse in the United Kingdom. You will be responsible for receiving, storing and despatch of goods, with a strong focus on safety and accuracy.

Working hours are 7.30am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. A Counterbalance FLT licence and own transport are required due to location. You should be detail‑oriented, able to work as part of a team and communicate clearly.

Qualifications

• FLT licence (valid and in-date) required.
• Proven experience as a Warehouse Operative or similar role.
• Strong commitment to health and safety regulations in a warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Goods Receiving: Accurately receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods, logging discrepancies or damage.
• Order Picking & Packing: Pick and prepare orders for despatch according to procedures and customer requirements.
• Forklift Operation: Operate Forklift Trucks (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach) safely for moving, stacking, retrieving goods.
• Inventory Management: Assist with regular stock checks.

Responsibilities

• Order Picking & Packing: Accurately pick and prepare orders for despatch according to company procedures and customer requirements


• Forklift Operation: Operate various types of Forklift Trucks (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach, safely and competently for moving, stacking, and retrieving goods.


• Inventory Management: Assist with regular stock checks

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Warehouse Operative.


• FLT Licence: Valid and in-date Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach, VNA - specify as appropriate).


• A strong understanding and commitment to health and safety regulations within a warehouse setting.


• Meticulous attention to detail for accurate picking, packing, and inventory management.


• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.


• Good verbal and written communication skills.


• Basic numeracy and literacy skills for documentation and record-keeping
