Job summary

South Wales Police invites applications for the role of Intelligence Development and Assessment Officer (IDAO) to join the Counter Terrorism Policing Wales Fixed Intelligence Management Unit (FIMU) in Bridgend. The post requires vetting to MV/SC and DV levels and may involve travel across the United Kingdom for training and induction.

We welcome applicants with surveillance/operational intelligence experience and a commitment to ongoing CT training.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have experience of working within an intelligence or similar operational environment.
• Willing to undertake specialist Counter Terrorism and role-specific training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out intelligence assessment and development work to identify vulnerabilities and safeguard opportunities within Wales’ communities.
• Identify intelligence gaps and task assets to build the intelligence picture.
• Manage, handle and assess information and intelligence, including confidential and secret/sensitive material, to determine threat and risk levels.
