Job summary

University of Oxford is seeking a Financial Assurance and Compliance Manager in the Finance Division to lead a cross‑university program for financial assurance and counter fraud. The role shapes risk management, strengthens controls and drives a mature second‑line assurance function with senior stakeholders.

You will oversee a growing team, influence across Finance and the wider University, and develop the counter‑fraud strategy while ensuring timely assurance to the Audit & Scrutiny Committee.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience in second-line assurance, governance, risk management or audit.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial assurance and counter fraud across the University.
• Develop and mature the Financial Assurance and Compliance team.
• Advise on fraud strategy and provide assurance to senior management.
• Influence controls and risk management across the organisation.
