Job summary

HealthHero in Glasgow is seeking fully qualified Counsellors or Psychotherapists to join our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Clinical Team on a part-time basis, based in-office at our HQ in Glasgow.

You will provide short-term confidential counselling, manager support, trauma and risk assessments, and guide clients through pathways via phone or video sessions. Also involved are safeguarding and time-limited assessments, with a flexible shift pattern to support work/life balance.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Counsellor or Psychotherapist with L4+ and BACP/COSCA (or similar) registered status.
  • Experience in EAP/telephone counselling or time-limited assessment preferred but training provided.
  • Good IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office; strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out initial clinical assessments and triage client needs, directing to appropriate pathways (phone/video).
  • Conduct risk assessments and follow safeguarding protocols.
  • Manage a caseload requiring structured counselling based on contractual hours and service needs.

Counsellor (UK GLASGOW)

Are you interested in joining a dynamic team that provides the best possible care to patients, clients and service users? We are looking for fully qualified Counsellors and Psychotherapists to join our Employee Assistant Programme (EAP) Clinical Team a part-time basis, based in-office at our HQ in Glasgow

About The Role

Our EAP Counsellors work to help employees resolve personal and work-related issues that may be affecting their health and wellbeing. Our EAP services include short-term confidential counselling, manager support, critical incident and trauma support, legal and financial advice, and referrals to specialist psychological services such as CBT and EMDR.

As a fully qualified Counsellor or Psychotherapist, your working day will include but not be limited to:

  • Carrying out initial clinical assessments and triaging client needs, directing individuals to appropriate clinical pathways. This will involve delivering support across the pathway via booked assessment appointments, in-the-moment support, or booked single sessions, conducted by telephone and/or video consultation.
  • Carrying out Risk Assessments and following the Safeguarding and Risk Protocol process.
  • Managing a caseload of clients requiring structured counselling, which will depend on your contractual hours, as well as the needs of the service.
Shift Patterns

We have a range of hours/shifts and can consider permanent weekend shifts, if preferable to you, for a work/life balance (our current vacancies are for 3 or 4 shifts per week).

Our shift patterns are split as follows, based on 3 days:

Shift Pattern 1
  • 1 Day shift – office
  • 1 Middle Shift
  • 1 Late shift
  • Plus 1 “awake” shift per month – (midnight to 6am)
  • No mandatory weekend
Shift Pattern 2
  • 1 Day shift - office
  • 1 Middle shift
  • 1 Late shift
  • Plus 1 weekend, either a Sat or Sun per month and a “sleeping” shift, per month (10pm-8am) dependent on business need
Shift Pattern 3
  • 1 Day shift – office
  • 1 middle shift
  • 1 awake shift (midnight – 6am weekly)
  • NO mandatory weekend
Shift Pattern 4
  • 1 Day shift - office
  • 1 middle shift (weekend)
  • 1 late shift
  • Plus 1 “sleeping” shift, per month (10pm-8am) dependent on business need
Key Skills And Experience

As a fully qualified Counsellor or Psychotherapist, our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Professional qualifications as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist (L4 and above in Counselling) with BACP/COSCA (or similar) registered status.
  • Previous EAP/Telephone Counselling or time limited assessment experience, ideally in a corporate environment. While it is advantageous, it is not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Good IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proficiency in written and oral English language.
  • A strong clinical background, with excellent assessment skills.
  • An ability to make sound Clinical decisions, whilst holding boundaries.
  • Your abilities as a team-player with excellent time management, clinical, communication and organisation skills.
  • An ability to be cognisant of clients and the service whilst working under pressure.
  • An ability to work within a busy environment.

Hybrid Working

Glasgow/Remote - Minimum of 1 day based in the Glasgow Office, depending on shift/days worked (mandatory)

Salary

Salary range £26,000 to £30,000 based on full time hours of 37.5. Part time hours will be pro rata salary.

Any agreed permanent work performed between 10:00pm and 6:00am, Monday to Sunday, shall be paid at 50% of your standard hourly rate.

  • Please note we may require a degree of flexibility during the first four weeks of employment for training purposes.
