Job Description

We are currently recruiting for Cost Managers to join our London-based Communities and Local Government Cost Management Team, supporting high-profile and iconic projects across the central and local government sector. We are recruiting for both full and part-time positions, and flexible working applications will be considered.

The team undertakes a wide variety of projects for notable public sector organizations such as refurbishment of listed buildings, office fit-out projects, high-volume residential projects, and master planning commissions within cost management and cost assurance.

Typical duties for the Cost Manager include:

  • Commercial delivery of various projects
  • Establishing friendly, professional, and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues, and other project parties
  • Cost management of contracts according to project objectives and policies
  • Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion within budget
  • Proactively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and correct applications
  • Collaborating with client and contractor teams to manage project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including program performance, cost control, and value engineering
  • Managing contract changes effectively, ensuring projects stay within governance and adopt best practices
  • Driving improvements in forecast and budget accuracy
  • Providing sound commercial support to stakeholders
  • Negotiating and finalizing final accounts

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
  • Degree or HNC qualification
  • Professional qualification (or working towards) such as MRICS is desirable
  • Ability to manage multiple projects successfully
