Cost Estimator

Location: Uttoxeter

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am until 5pm

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum

The role:

We are working with our client based in Uttoxeter to recruit for a Cost Estimator on a full-time permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for analysing cost factors related to processing customer goods to support sales in pricing and quotation. If you have a passion for producing complete quotations, following the sales process, and demonstrating strong analytical, communication, and time management skills, this could be the role for you.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborating with customers, Sales Team members, and staff from other departments to discuss and create estimates, as well as resolving any issues.
2. Reviewing and interpreting drawings and other documents to prepare time, cost, material, and labour estimates.
3. Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the costing process from start to finish.
4. Coordinating with customers and client managers to gather necessary information.
5. Inputting cost sheet data into Orpheus to generate quotations.
6. Observing and learning from team members about the costing and quoting process flow.
7. Developing an understanding of the time requirements for each process through guidance from current team members.
8. Working with the purchasing team to ensure materials and product processes are updated regularly.
9. Communicating with the Business Development Manager and Client Managers to ensure quotations are accurate and delivered on time.
10. Preparing documentation for management related to work planning, organisation, and scheduling.
11. Conducting cost reviews regularly to maintain profitability.
12. Performing special studies to establish standard hours and cost data, or identify opportunities for cost reduction.
13. Contributing to business improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing cost efficiency.
14. Following all company health and safety policies and protocols.
15. Wearing and maintaining Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times when on company or customer sites.
