Siemens Energy in the United Kingdom is seeking a Cost Engineer for Machined Parts within the Gas Turbine portfolio. You will apply cost engineering and value analysis to influence design and procurement decisions, driving should-cost targets and cost-out opportunities.
Engage with Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing teams, travel to supplier sites as needed, and develop cost transparency using TcPCM, aPriori and other tools to support competitive bidding and cost reductions.
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Cost Engineer for our Machined Parts commodity, you will play a key role in improving the competitiveness and profitability of components used across our Small, Medium and Aero-derivative Gas Turbine portfolio.
Using Cost and Value Engineering methodologies, you will build transparency around what engineered components should cost and identify the technical and commercial drivers behind those costs. You'll work across Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing and our supplier network, analysing manufacturing processes, challenging supplier quotations and identifying opportunities to reduce cost without compromising quality or performance.
Your work will cover engineered components typically no larger than 500mm³, giving you exposure to a broad range of manufacturing technologies including machining, turning, forging, casting, fabrication, coating, welding and additive manufacturing.

We bring together gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and digital service solutions under one roof. Within Cost and Value Engineering, we work across the product lifecycle to understand the relationship between technical design, manufacturing processes, customer value and cost. You'll collaborate with a global network of Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing and Cost Engineering specialists to improve the competitiveness of our gas turbine portfolio.
