Job description

Westlakes Recruit is currently recruiting for a Cost Engineer on a permanent basis, based in Suffolk.

Key responsibilities will be:

1. The Cost Engineer is accountable to the client Project Controls Group Head, PPM, and/or Operations Manager. They are responsible for providing cost management support to the EDF Nuclear Generation work portfolio, monitoring, controlling, and forecasting costs during the project lifecycle. This role has no direct reports.
2. The role will be based at EDF's Sizewell Power Station location and may require occasional business travel to UK sites/stations. Flexible working arrangements between office and home are possible. The Cost Engineer will report to the Operations Manager and be accountable for project delivery directly to the client.
3. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, with the ability to develop relationships, maintain effective networks, and be results-focused with a team-centered approach.
4. Experience working within highly regulated environments with high safety standards and culture is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of HNC/HND ideally in a cost-related discipline or relevant experience; MACostE qualification is desirable.
• Experience across the entire project and programme lifecycle, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning.
• Understanding of the inter-relationship between time, cost, and commercial aspects of the project lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of the latest version of Primavera.
• Experience using SAP Finance and Project modules.
• Ability to reconcile cost information as it applies to programmes of work.
• Proficiency in estimating, scheduling, programming, risk tools, and Earned Value Analysis.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all management levels and produce monthly reports with insightful information.
