About the opportunity

We are seeking a Cost Engineer to join our expanding team in London during an exciting growth phase. You will play a crucial role in supporting one of our key Construction clients by developing and executing procurement and commercial strategies across various projects.

In this role you will:

• Collaborate with the Senior Cost Engineer and Head of Estimating to ensure consistent cost planning and estimating approaches aligned with client standards.
• Produce and review cost planning and estimating documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the estimating team by providing assurance and mentoring junior members.
• Monitor and manage construction budgets during preconstruction, including supporting change management processes.
• Assist in quantification during cost planning and estimation activities.
• Contribute to benchmarking data collection for preconstruction and delivery teams.
• Manage stakeholder relationships to facilitate accurate and timely estimates, coordinating with planning and procurement teams.
• Present, negotiate, and justify pricing strategies transparently with senior leadership and external partners.

About you - Essential

• Proficient in Excel and similar software tools.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Background in infrastructure construction, ideally with a main contractor in civil engineering.
• Experience in estimating, with proficiency in Candy Estimating Software and RIB Cost X.
• Knowledge of AACE estimating principles and maturity levels.
• Flexible and mobile, willing to adapt to project needs.
• Chartered status with recognized industry bodies such as ICE, CICES, RICS, or CIOB.
