Job Description

The Senior Project Controls Engineer (SPCE) will be part of our regional project controls team, working on high-profile Natural Resources projects. This role involves liaising with stakeholders, maintaining accurate cost data and reports, including ACWP, EAC, performance analysis, earned value, and variance analysis.

The SPCE will support the team by reviewing and interpreting all aspects of cost impact from performance issues, inflation, trends, forex, and formal changes, alongside producing project control reports and providing performance analysis and recommendations.

  1. Produce and maintain accurate EAC data and associated variance analysis.
  2. Understand the relationship between Cost and Schedule.
  3. Utilize Cost Management and Reporting Systems effectively.
  4. Coordinate and produce cost reports on a defined cycle.
  5. Understand and assist in Change process and its impact on Cost performance.
  6. Apply Cost data to Risk and Opportunity assessments.
  7. Review and accept cost performance data from contractors and suppliers.
  8. Conduct earned value analysis and communicate findings to management.
  9. Contribute to regional and national Cost Principles and Guidance.
  10. Adhere to project governance, Cost standards, and procedures.
  11. Support project team in developing status reports and project reviews.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Experience in project controls on major projects or programmes.
  2. Proficiency with cost management software such as Ecosys, ARES PRISM, or similar tools.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  4. Knowledge of project controls and management methodologies.
  5. Understanding of earned value management, progress reporting, forecasting, and cost risk analysis.
  6. Ability to build strong client relationships and articulate benefits.
  7. Focus on efficiency, cost management, and budget delivery.
  8. Ability to contribute to new business development.
  9. Effective in managing progress and meetings.
  10. Strong communication and feedback skills.
  11. Commitment to providing excellent service and fostering a culture of excellence.
  12. Leadership skills including goal setting, performance management, and motivation.
  13. Ability to deliver value-added solutions and establish effective relationships.
