Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled Construction Cost Analyst / Cost Estimator to join an established consultancy with a strong global presence. The successful candidate will be part of an expert team helping clients navigate and succeed in the Net Zero transition through effective project development and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support growth in the Energy sector (including Transmission, Distribution, and Renewables) by applying cost estimating and analysis expertise to infrastructure projects.
2. Contribute to projects in diverse sectors such as Transportation (Rail, Highways, Aviation), Utilities, Healthcare, and more.
3. Apply data analytics to construction projects, providing cost insights and improvements.
4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage cost estimating, modelling, and benchmarking efforts.

Ideal Candidate:

1. Proven experience in cost estimating and/or cost analysis for construction projects, ideally in the Infrastructure sector.
2. Strong background in statistics, cost modelling, and data analysis.
3. Self-motivated with the ability to deliver results with minimal supervision.
4. Excellent communicator with the ability to simplify complex data and present findings clearly.

Skills and Experience:

1. Degree in QS, Engineering, Finance, or similar.
2. Understanding of construction project lifecycles and complex engineering projects.
3. Familiarity with estimating techniques (e.g., first principles, parametric estimating).
4. Chartered status (MRICS, ACoste, AACE) or working towards professional accreditation.
5. Strong background in data visualisation and reporting, especially with PowerBI and Microsoft Office.
6. Knowledge of estimating systems such as CostX, CostOS (desirable but not essential).
