Job summary

DS Smith is seeking a Focus Improvement Technician for the Corrugator in Burscough. The role covers high-speed lines, starch systems and related equipment to maximise uptime and output.

You will perform planned maintenance, diagnose faults and implement root-cause actions to drive reliability across the site. The package includes night/weekend cover shifts as part of the salary and a_57,500 annual base.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification such as an apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3/4 or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining high-speed, heavy industrial machinery in corrugating or similar environments.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical/wiring diagrams.
• Experience diagnosing faults and conducting root cause analysis.
• Proficiency with CMMS to manage work orders and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned, preventative and corrective maintenance across the designated area.
• Act as the technical SME for assigned equipment and assets.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and steam-system faults.
• Carry out predictive maintenance activities including vibration, thermal and ultrasonic testing.
• Record maintenance activity and corrective actions in the CMMS.
