Tax Senior - Business & Corporate Tax Team

We are seeking a recently qualified Tax Senior to join our thriving team. This role can be based at any of our office locations: Heathrow, Solent, Woking, Farnborough, Leatherhead, Stevenage, or London.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified or experienced Tax Senior with aspirations to progress to an Assistant Manager role or higher.

The role involves managing a portfolio of corporation tax clients, overseeing compliance cycles, and participating in advisory work when appropriate.

This is a key position within the Business and Corporate Tax Team, with initial responsibility for overseeing compliance functions within their designated office. Our client base includes owner-managed companies and large international groups across various industries.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Preparing and reviewing UK corporation tax computations.
  • Monitoring reporting and payment deadlines.
  • Collaborating with audit and accounts teams on tax accounting entries and disclosures.
  • Mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Providing tax compliance proposals and quotes to clients.
  • Depending on experience, managing other business tax returns (e.g., ATED, ERS, EMI, P11Ds).
  • Monitoring financial performance against KPIs.
  • Managing client and HMRC correspondence.
  • Identifying tax planning and risk mitigation opportunities, and cross-selling services.
  • Supporting ad hoc projects and ensuring compliance with technical, ethical, and risk standards.
The Person

The successful candidate will work autonomously with support from partners and directors, demonstrating strong relationship management, team collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong corporate tax technical knowledge.
  • Understanding of tax issues affecting owner-managed businesses and shareholders.
  • Knowledge of other business taxes and reporting is a plus.
  • Proficiency in UK accounting standards and financial analysis.
  • IT skills including MS Office; Alphatax is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
