Specialist tax recruiter - working on in-house roles across Corporate & International tax, Transfer Pricing and VAT

A large banking group is looking to hire a Corporate Tax Manager to join an established and high-performing team based in their London HQ. The role will cover a cross-section of UK tax compliance, reporting and forecasting work, and will suit a recently qualified ACA/ACCA/CTA either looking to move in-house for the first time or to move from another banking group in a team where progression is more tangible.

The core responsibilities will be as follows:

• Preparation or review of relevant tax returns in accordance with applicable tax law and agreeing compliance positions with the tax authorities.
• Preparation or review of tax accounting calculations and disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards for group forecasting, reporting and stress testing.
• Provision of technical insight, analysis and conclusions on a variety of tax technical areas to determine appropriate tax treatment.
• Analysis of relevant developments in tax law to ensure the impact on the bank is understood and appropriately managed.
• Design and operation of tax process controls to ensure tax risk is appropriately managed and tax treatments can be supported.

The successful candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of UK group companies and will have responsibility for the oversight, coordination and review of tax returns (produced by Big 4 advisors) as well as picking up on any related UK tax technical issues. In addition, they would take on a functional area of expertise whereby they would become the internal SME for that specific technical issue, regardless of whether the issue is arising within their portfolio. This is designed to give the team members the maximum exposure to all the banks different business lines and operations.

This is a full-time role with a minimum expectation of 3 days per week working in the London office.
