Corporate Tax Compliance Specialist (12 month fixed term)

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Compliance Specialist with a minimum of five years of experience, specifically in UK corporate tax compliance for companies and partnerships, with a particular emphasis on real estate. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring our tax compliance functions are executed effectively and meet statutory requirements. This position will require expertise in navigating complex tax regulations and providing support in delivering tax compliance solutions to corporate and partnership structures within the real estate sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely preparation, submission, and management of UK corporate tax returns for companies and partnerships including review of UK CT600s for non-resident landlords, SA800s for UK Limited Partnerships, review of investor vouchers and other tax return processes (e.g. ATED, CT61 and other returns).
- Tax provisions: Management of tax provisioning processes, tax payments requirements and other compliance obligations as required.
- Regulatory Adherence: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax legislation and developments, ensuring adherence to all statutory and regulatory guidelines.
- Audit Support: Prepare documentation and liaise with auditors during tax audits, ensuring all queries are addressed promptly and accurately.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement efficient tax processes and systems that enhance compliance accuracy and effectiveness.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external finance teams, property managers and other holders of data required to complete returns.
- Supplier management: Liaise with third party accounting firms who provide the outsourced tax compliance services.
- Team development: Train and develop Mumbai based team-members and help to build capacity.
Qualifications:- Educational Background: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field; professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: At least five years of experience in corporate tax compliance with specific involvement in real estate tax matters with broad awareness of typical real estate funds and structures ideal but not essential.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using excel, awareness of tax compliance software and tools; advanced understanding of UK tax laws, particularly those affecting real estate transactions.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax specialists.
Desirable Attributes:- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing process improvements within tax compliance functions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
