About the roleThis role is internally known as Corporate Real Estate Building Surveyor. To join the Corporate Surveying Team at NFU Mutual, where you'll manage an occupied and leasehold occupational property portfolio across the UK, including Northern Ireland.
As an in-house Corporate Real Estate Building Surveyor, you'll oversee the management, development, and maintenance of approximately 300 buildings, ensuring they meet business, contractual, and statutory requirements.
You'll ensure our sites are equipped to meet the needs of our employees and the NFU Mutual Agency Network across the UK. You'll influence and advise stakeholders on the effective management of buildings, fixtures, and services throughout the property lifecycle.
You may need to travel to various locations once a week, with the possibility of more travel for specific projects. We will provide a company car or car allowance for your convenience.
This is a hybrid role with 30% homeworking and the remaining time split between regional offices and site visits across the UK.
About youYou are a Chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) with a strong understanding of building construction. Your knowledge of building regulations and construction processes allows you to thrive in a busy environment and manage diverse tasks effectively.
You are comfortable with project management, contract administration, and building surveys, and proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Your proactive communication skills and problem-solving abilities help you manage conflicting demands effectively.
To be successful, you should also have:
- Strong knowledge of building issues within commercial, office, and retail environments
- Experience managing refurbishments within commercial premises
- Experience delivering Planned Maintenance programmes and national contracts
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and third-party suppliers
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and statutory requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
