Job description

Corporate Associate

Location: Bristol (Hybrid Working)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Associate to join a thriving and highly regarded corporate team within a Top 100 UK law firm, recognised by both Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners. The firm has an outstanding reputation across sectors and advises an impressive client base ranging from owner‑managed businesses and SMEs to PLCs and multinational organisations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a corporate lawyer looking to combine high‑calibre work with a genuinely collaborative and supportive culture. You'll enjoy meaningful client exposure, quality transactions and the freedom to develop your career in an environment that values trust, autonomy and authenticity.

The Role

You will advise on a broad range of corporate matters, with a particular focus on:

  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Corporate restructures and reorganisations
  • Shareholder and investment agreements
  • General corporate advisory work
  • Transactions across a variety of sectors, including the firm's nationally recognised education practice

The team works with an impressive portfolio of clients, including independent schools, early years providers and organisations operating across the wider education sector, alongside a diverse range of commercial businesses.

This role offers a varied, fast‑paced workload with the opportunity to work on high‑profile and strategically significant matters. You will be encouraged to take ownership of your work, build strong client relationships and play an active role in business development, while receiving support from experienced partners and colleagues.

Candidate Requirements

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent)
  • Ideally 2+ years' PQE in corporate law, although candidates with more or less experience are encouraged to apply
  • Strong experience of M&A and transactional corporate work
  • Excellent technical skills and commercial awareness
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities
Why Join?

This firm has built a strong reputation not only for the quality of its work but also for the quality of its people. With multiple UK offices, it combines the resources, clients and career opportunities of a national firm with the feel of a close‑knit and supportive team. Lawyers are given early responsibility, direct client contact and the opportunity to work on complex, rewarding matters without the bureaucracy or hierarchy often found elsewhere.

The culture is refreshingly down‑to‑earth, collaborative and inclusive, with a genuine emphasis on teamwork, professional development and long‑term career progression. The firm invests heavily in its people through structured learning programmes, tailored development opportunities and clear promotion pathways, enabling individuals to fulfil their potential at every stage of their career.
