Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed SEND Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils in or around Thaxted with additional learning needs.

You will create bespoke lessons to bridge gaps, boost confidence, and help students reconnect with education. A patient and encouraging approach is essential to support learners who may be away from mainstream education.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification, or relevant learning support experience.
• Strong understanding of the PMY/SEC curriculum.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Passion for education and supporting young people to achieve their potential.

Core Subject Tutor - Thaxted

Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed SEND Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils in or around Thaxted who have additional learning and behavioural needs.

In this role, you will create and deliver bespoke lessons aimed at bridging learning gaps, boosting confidence, and helping students reconnect with education. Many of the pupils you support may have been away from mainstream education for some time, so a patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored one-to-one tuition sessions based on each student's individual needs
• Provide support in core subjects including Maths, English, and Science
• Encourage confidence, independence, and effective study habits
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/carers where required

Requirements

• QTS, equivalent teaching qualification, or relevant learning support experience
• Previous experience teaching or tutoring students
• Strong understanding of the PMY/SEC curriculum
• A genuine passion for education and supporting young people to achieve their potential
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
